Welcome to First Baptist's Webpage
We are so glad that you have decided to stop by our webpage and consider joining our fellowship of Jesus Followers. Our webpage contains a vast amount of information about our church, but no webpage can help you experience our church like a personal visit. Thus, we hope that you will consider joining us soon. Below you will find a list of common questions and answers.
What is your church all about?
Our church is all about bringing glory to God by being family oriented. Everything we do strives to help families become all that God wants them to be, as we primarily rely upon God's Word and prayer.
What are your worship services like?
Our worship service are designed to help orient families vertically to the great God of the universe. We usually open our services with celebratory singing and a time of greeting, which is followed by prayer, biblically-based teaching, and a time of response through song and giving.
What type of music do you utilize?
Our worship style is an eclectic mix of songs and song types which strives to point people toward God. Despite our personal style preferences, we desire to humbly come together and worship to songs that the entire family can enjoy, including hymns of great beauty and more contemporary songs. Through a more contemporary style, we utilize a variety of instruments to facilitate a celebratory mood toward God, including piano, guitars, and drums.
What Bible version do you use?
On any Sunday morning, you will see church members carrying in a variety of quality Bible versions based upon personal preference, including the New International Version (NIV), New American Standard Bible (NASB), New Living Translation (NLT), the New King James Version (NKJV), and the King James Version (KJV). Yet, our church utilizes the English Standard Version (ESV) in our public worship gatherings, as we believe that it represents the best of modern biblical scholarship while also having an easy-to-read quality.
What should I wear?
At First Baptist Church, the "dress code" is a matter upon which we have decided not to focus. You'll find individuals in everything from suits & skirts to blue jeans & shorts. We are much more concerned with getting to know you than concerned about what you are wearing, as we want to foster an atmosphere of belonging. So, if you join us, please feel free to as dress comfortably and casually as you would like.
