First Baptist Church of Aurora is a Christ Centered church that ministers to the entire family.  Wherever a contact name is listed without contact information, you may call the church office at 330-562-8233 to make connection with that person.

Adult Ministries:

Bible Studies: We encourage everyone to be a part of a small group Bible Study. A primary opportunity for adult study is every Sunday morning at 9:15 AM at the church. There are classes at that time for all ages including nursery.

Men's Ministries - The Bible is clear that men are called to be spiritual leaders in the church and in their homes.  The regular events for this ministry include weekly Wednesday Night Bible studies and Monthly Prayer Breakfasts.  The men also conduct outreach and service ministries.

Women's Ministry - Women's ministries are a vital component of life at First Baptist.  Ladies of all ages participate in special events, fellowship times and Bible studies.  We learn together, forge friendships and have fun! 

Missions - We are commanded to take God’s message to those here at home, across Ohio and to the world. We understand that our mission calling goes far beyond our four walls.

We participate in mission trips to do church building through "Builders for Christ".  Also, a percentage of all regular giving goes to different missions causes through the Summit Baptist Association, the State Convention of Baptists in Ohio, and the International Mission Board.

We sponsor special Missionary offerings at Easter and Christmas.

Praise Team -  Our Praise Team leads our music worship.  They are aided by high tech sound equipment, computers, projectors and lighting.  

Our musical style is blended, with an emphasis on presenting both timeless hymns and the most recent praise songs, accompanied by our praise band. The team does not exist to perform for the congregation but rather they lead God’s people into God’s presence with singing and into His courts with wonderful praise!

Whether you like to raise your hands, or keep your hands in your pockets, you’ll feel comfortable as you worship Him in Spirit and in truth.

Celebration Choir - All adult singers are welcome to participate as we provide special music on Sundays and holidays such as Christmas and Easter.  Junior and senior high schools students are also welcome!

Special Services and Retreats - Throughout the year we sponsor special services and retreats for adults and youth. 

Visitation Ministry - Visitation ministry will start in May. As part of a team we will to do weekly visitation and calling to our shut-ins, visitors, those with special needs, and those whom we haven’t seen in a while.

The Bodylife Journey - learn more about FBCA, opportunities for you to serve, and yourself. We will introduce you, during this one-time three hour session, to FBCA’s mission, core values, building, and ministry opportunities. We will teach you how to grow in your Christian faith, as well as give you opportunities to Grow. Last, we will help you discover your own unique God-given S.H.A.P.E., which will enable you to be involved in ministry opportunities that match the way God has uniquely made you.

This course also offers the opportunity to get to know someone from our congregation better, as a person who has already embarked upon the Bodylife journey will meet with you prior to the three hour session and will attend the class period with you.

Children/Youth Ministries:

AWANA - AWANA stands for Approved Workers Are Not Ashamed (2 Tim. 2:15).  It is a Bible-based ministry to help lead children to Christ and help them learn to grow through scripture memorization. An AWANA evening is divided into three parts: Game Time, Handbook Time, Council Time.  Our AWANA meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:45 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. during weeks of the school year (Sept. through May). Children from infants to 12th grade are invited to attend and bring lots of friends. Contact Dave T. for more info.  Check out our AWANA web site.

                         

Bible Drill - Children in grades 4 - 6 can participate in a proven, effective, and serious scripture memorization program that provides fun, fellowship, and competition that will last the children a lifetime. 

Children's Church - Children from kindergarten through 4th grade are invited to attend an age appropriate and meaningful worship service.  Children's Church helps kids understand what a worship service is about and helps prepare them for the time when they will attend the adult worship service.  Children are dismissed before the Pastor preaches.  This is optional to families who desire an age appropriate worship setting for the children.

Puppets - All children, ages K-6th grade, are welcomed to come and join! We meet Sunday evenings at 5:45 p.m. Please contact Patti for more information!

Choir - Vocal choirs for youth and children present special music to bring special impact to services.  Children programs often provide opportunities for role-playing and parts. Talented leaders work with your children.

LifeSource - LifeSource is all about the answer... Jesus. Want to know the final authority on every question you could ever think of asking?  Come to LifeSource and find out. LifeSource is a postmodern ministry for teenagers. Through Bible studies, fellowship, and modern day worship, teenagers learn the value of good morals and great ethics taught to us through God’s Word. In a world where everything is constantly changing we know that God and His Word of truth never changes. You’ll find that here at LifeSource. Come and join us for a spectacular time! LifeSource meets regularly every Tuesday evening from 7-8:30 p.m. Food, fellowship, and fun; they’re all right here in one place.

Upward Basketball - Basketball program for children K-6.  The next season will start in December 2007.  Go to www.upward.org    FBCA Program 

My First School Preschool - My First School is a Christian preschool licensed by the State of Ohio offering classes  that follow the City of Aurora public school schedule.  Click here to jump directly to My First School information.

Vacation Bible School (VBS) - Held each summer for one week.  It is fun and adventure for any and all children of the community - puppets, games, crafts, friends.... what more can we say?  Come any day or days because you're always welcome.
